Hami-Lop Nur Railway project, totally invested with 3 bln yuan, has been started to construct. Then, there are 13 railway projects under construction in XJ. The total investment reached 19.34 bln yuan, making a new record in construction scale.

The 13 railway projects include: Multicolored Bay to Jiangjunmiao section of Urumqi-East Junggar Basin Railway, Kashgar-Hotan Railway, Kuqa-Ehuobulak Railway and others. Within the year, Kashgar-Hotan Railway, Korla-Luntai Section along the second line of Koral-Aksu Railway, Urumqi-Alataw Pass Electrified Railway, Multicolored Bay to Jiangjunmiao section of Urumqi-East Junggar Basin Railway will be opened to traffic. In addition, new projects including the south circular route for cargo train in Hami and others will be started to construct. The second double line of Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway and other key projects will be promoted to advance.
