The national work conference on science and education assistance to Xinjiang  was held on Tuesday in Urumqi. Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and State councilor delivered a speech at the conference.

Wan Gang, vice chairman of CPPCC National Committee, minister of Science and Technology, Zhang Chunxian, secretary of CPC Xinjiang Committee, Yuan Guiren, minister of Education attended the conference and made speeches.

Liu Yandong remarked that, science, education and talents all play very important role in Xinjiang's development. She said that, the region should apply the gist of the central government's conference on Xinjiang's work and take "rejuvenating Xinjiang by science and education" as a key strategy, to make use of the educational and scientific resources nationwide, so as to better the science and education assistance work in Xinjiang.

Wan  Gang said that, Xinjiang should enhance its innovative capacity, implement the strategy of science benefiting people, aiming to push foward the leapfrog development and lasting stability.

Zhang Chunxian said that, Xinjiang will create a good environment for the implementation of science and education projects and the preferential policies.
