A delegation led by Tian Wen, Standing Committee Member of CPC Committee and minister of Propaganda Department of the government of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, paid an investigative visit to Karamay on March 14 to supervise the construction of grassroots infrastructure.

The delegation toured major public infrastructure projects including the mosque on Youjian North Street, Jiafu community, Karamay Broadcasting Television Center, and Karamay Library to inspect the measures being provided to the city in its current phase of steady growth.

During her visit to the mosque on Youjian North Street, Tian Wen asked for details on the management of mosques and religious activities in Karamay noting that the management of mosques is an important part of the region’s efforts in achieving national unity.

Jiafu community is the one of the busiest areas in the city with the Karamay government having transformed the region and the fortune of its residents through a 70 million yuan ($10 million) investment that began in 2015. The regional authorities have provided the area with good public infrastructure such as water, electricity, heating, gas, and telecommunications network.

Tian Wen had high praise for the efforts Karamay government has done for the grassroots. She urged the local government to focus on national unity and social stability to secure the city’s long term development.
