Fourteen new bus stations recently debuted in the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe district), Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

Compared to ordinary stations, the new ones are simpler yet more advanced. The surfaces of the new stations are sprayed with antiseptic and rustproof materials that can keep the station neat and artistic.

The new stations are about 18 meters long and were designed in a more people-friendly way. The ceilings are expanded to 1.8 meters wide from the original 1.2 meters, to provide better protection for passengers against rain and snow.

Mainly distributed along Zhongya South Road, Zhongya North Road and Zhongshu South Road, they also adopted LED lamp bands on the guideboards and bulletin boards so people can still get a clear vision of the words on the boards at night.

More than 1.36 million yuan ($206,516) was invested in the stations by Urumqi Public Transportation and Taxi Co Ltd.
