Toutunhe company listed on China's Top 500 Most Valuable Brands

The Xinjiang Goldwind Sci & Tech Co, based in the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe district), ranked No 180 on the 11th annual list of China's Top 500 Most Valuable Brands, local media reported on Jan 8.

With a total brand value of 22.83 billion yuan ($3.5 billion), the company ranked No 11 within the electromechanical industry.

As of the end of the third quarter of 2017, Xinjiang Goldwind Sci & Tech Co Ltd has installed 27,000 wind turbines across the globe, with a total capacity of over 41 million KW. It has ranked in the top three globally for five consecutive years and ranked first in China for six consecutive years.

This year, it will accelerate digitalization and explore intelligent operation options for offshore wind power, following the country's "Internet Plus" strategy.

Established in 1998, the company is a pioneer in the research, development, and manufacturing of wind turbines. After 20 years of development, its operations have expanded to more than 20 countries, with nine turbine production bases.

Xinjiang Goldwind Sci & Tech Co Ltd has a staff of more than 6,000 people and went public in the Shenzhen and Hong Kong Stock Exchanges with a market value of 60 billion yuan ($9.2 billion).

The selection of China's Most Valuable Brands is co-organized by Brand Observer magazine and more than 200 institutions, including China's Brand Research Institute and Brand Observation Research Institute at Guangdong University of Technology. The selection is determined through comprehensive evaluation companies' annual revenue, profit, industry contributions, industry status and brand history.

Five companies in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region made the list.
