The incubation center looks like a giant engine, symbolizing the park's development philosophy of innovation, vitality and progress. It can accommodate more than one hundred technology-based small and micro companies, which will help spur the development of such companies in Toutunhe district.

Xinjiang Weitai Small and Micro Business Industrial Park will occupy an area of 1,600 mu (106.67 hectares), with a floor space of 1,251,000 square meters.

Costing a total of 3.69 billion yuan ($588.55 million), the park will mainly develop supporting industries in the equipment manufacturing sector. The small and micro companies in the park will offer service to companies within the supply chains of Guangzhou Automobile Group and CRRC.

According to Chen Gang, district chief and deputy secretary of the district committee of Toutunhe district, "the equipment manufacturing industry in this area could play a leading role throughout the autonomous region. With equipment manufacturing as the pillar industry, other industries like logistics, financing and commerce have begun gathering in our district, forming an aggregation of industries."

The park will be built in three stages. Other facilities include a comprehensive service area and an industrial factory area.

This year, Urumqi plans to build 14 industrial parks, and by the year 2020, it plans to have a total of 30 industrial parks, according to local media reports.
