An exhibition of paintings and calligraphy works from across China was held in Urumqi from August 12 to 18. This exhibition organized by China Painting and Calligraphy Post is expected to further implement the gist of central government's conference on Xinjiang's work and promote the development of Xinjiang culture and art. It is the first of a series of cultural assistance work to be conducted by China Painting and Calligraphy Post.
155 pieces of works collected from 20 provinces and municipalities including Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao were exhibited, which will provide an opportunity for people in Xinjiang to appreciate paintings and calligraphy works in different styles.
