Jia Qinglin, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee is making an inspection in XJ. On Saturday, he had a talk with representatives of local religious circles during his visit to Hotan.

At the talk, Abdulitfu Abdureyim, vice president of Chinese Islamic Association and vice chairman of CPPCC XJ Committee and other 3 representatives respectively made speeches. After listening, Jia Qinglin spoke highly of the contributions of patriotic religious personages, he said Party committees and governments at all levels in Xinjiang have always attached great importance to the education and cultivation of religious believers, showed care for their lives and work, and given support to their religious activities. The religious circles should carry out the gist of the central government's conference on Xinjiang's work and the Party's religious policies. They should do well the religious work in the new situation and help consolidate national unity and harmonious religious relations. Jia also called for greater efforts by local religious circles to contribute to the long-term stability and development of Xinjiang.

Jia Qinglin made four suggestions to the religious circles as the following: to promote scientific development to help religious believers improve living conditions. To enhance national unity and harmonious religious relations, do well the religious activities, and strengthen the cultivation of patriotic and religious personages.
