The seven low-rent housing projects in Urumqi are all in smooth progress. 6132 suits of houses are under construction. The majority of these projects could be completed by the end of this year.

The housing projects this year include 6,000 suits of low-rent houses and 2,000 suits of affordable houses. The low-rent houses under construction are mainly located in Saybag district, Shuimogou district and Midong district, according to the House Property Bureau of Urumqi

It is required that families with a monthly income no more than 300 Yuan and a housing area per capita no more than 10 square meters are qualified to apply for low-rent houses.

So far, 4,797 families have moved into low-rent houses and another 2,050 have bought affordable houses.
