Over 400 million Yuan granted by Department of Civil Affairs of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Department of Finance has been distributed to all parts of Xinjiang. It is required that this sum of money should be delivered to people entitled to basic living allowances by the end of August, according to Xinjiang Department of Civil Affairs on August 23.
It was declared on a press conference held by Xinjiang People's Government on July 26 that Xinjiang will speed up efforts to raise the minimum insurance across the region.
There are in all 645,000 urban residents and 1,299,000 rural people entitled to basic living allowances. Their monthly subsidies will be increased by 30 and 10 Yuan respectively.
Still, another 216,000 urban people stricken by poverty will be also covered in basic living allowances plan.
