An International Seminar on Counter-Terrorism has been held in Yining in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, drawing nearly 100 participants from over 20 nations and various international bodies. The event focused on addressing new terrorism challenges, strengthening state responsibilities and fostering international synergy. Key issues discussed included regional counter-terrorism amid geopolitical conflicts, misuse of emerging technologies for terrorist purposes, and the root causes of terrorism. China advocated global responsibility and multilateral cooperation and opposed double standards in counter-terrorism. Highlighting Xinjiang's more than seven decades of progress and stability, China showcased the effectiveness of its counter-terrorism measures. The forum reaffirmed that combating the shared threat of terrorism demands unified global action.

The abuse of technology and the deficiency of capacity have resulted in more harmful terrorist activities, greater difficulty in preventing and cracking down on terrorism, and heavier counterterrorism pressure around the whole world."
