More than 5,000 representatives from over 30 countries and regions attended the fourth China-Eurasia Security Expo that opened Thursday in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

With the theme "Smart Security, Intensified Technology," firms and organizations from China, the United States, Israel, Russia, the Philippines and other countries show advanced products and solutions for security and police forces, including high-definition surveillance equipment, drones and robots at 1,700 booths at the three-day expo.

Norman Ng, secretary-general of the Asia-Pacific Security Association, said Asia's security market value was estimated at around 250 billion U.S. dollars and China had become a driving force in the development of the global security industry.

"China's security market exceeded 540 billion yuan (about 81 billion dollars) in 2016 and is growing at an annual pace of 13 percent. Chinese security products have entered the markets in more than 190 countries and regions," said Yang Jincai, president of National Security City Cooperative Alliance. Enditem
