With the implementation of the outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit, travel, economic and trade exchanges have seen a boost.

Thanks to visa-free policies and the expansion of international air routes, passenger flows at the Urumqi international airport in China's northwest region of Xinjiang have risen this year. The number of people entering and leaving China through this airport has exceeded 400-thousand. On June 23rd, Urumqi airport saw a record 29 international flights, carrying more than 4-thousand 8-hundred passengers to and from countries such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.

FU JING, Traveler from Zhejiang Province "I flew from Zhejiang to Urumqi to transfer to Georgia for travel. When I arrived at Urumqi Airport, I was amazed by how beautiful the airport is. The customs clearance process was also very convenient. I think traveling to Central Asian countries from here will be very convenient."

MIRZURAT, Traveler from Uzbekistan "This is my second time in China. Last time, I needed to apply for a visa. Now, the mutual visa exemption between our two countries makes it very convenient and fast. We will travel in Urumqi and then transfer to Shanghai. Urumqi has a lot of delicious food and beautiful scenery. We will stay in China for eight days."

FENG CHAO, Instructor, Urumqi Entry-Exit Border Checkpoint "There are 125 inbound and outbound flights per week. The number of people entering and leaving the country this year is expected to exceed 1 million."
