Central delegation presents souvenirs to Xinjiang to mark region's 70th anniversary

The central delegation, currently in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the autonomous region's founding, on Thursday presented souvenirs to the autonomous region.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and head of the delegation, attended the souvenir presentation ceremony.

The delegation presented a congratulatory plaque bearing words by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee -- "Foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and build a modern socialist Xinjiang."

The delegation also presented "Zhonghua Tongxin Zun," tin-bronze vessels that symbolize the solidarity of people of all ethnic groups of China.

Other gifts included titanium alloy thermos cups, enamel teapots, ECG machines, blood pressure monitors, blood glucose meters, astronomical telescopes, trolley speakers, washing machines and microwave ovens.
