The air hummed with joy as the sizzle of a thousand-person hotpot mingled with the vows of young lovers and the enduring smiles of wedding couples during Spring Festival in Kuqa, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

During the holiday, Kuqa was adorned with red silk and brimming with jubilation. Locals attended a spectacular feast that blended traditional wedding rituals, culinary delights, and community togetherness. Residents and visitors experienced the city's warmth and humanistic touch amidst the ancient charm of its elevated residential compounds.

Among the couples taking part were newlyweds tying the knot and spouses celebrating their golden and silver wedding anniversaries. Dressed in traditional Chinese wedding attire and guided by a master of ceremonies, they recited vows, toasted, paid respects to heaven and earth, and tossed bouquets.

Nearby, the thousand-person hotpot feast was in full swing. Dozens of round tables were neatly arranged, with steaming hotpots filled to the brim with assorted ingredients. Locals and tourists sat together, enjoying the satisfying meal and conversations.

"The people here are so hospitable," said Gao Yanhong, a tourist from Urumqi. "We were lucky to witness the collective wedding and enjoy the big hotpot. It's a wonderful example of our ethnic unity — I think it's absolutely fantastic."
